On this page I keep track of my websites and projects that I deem interesting enough to mention. Most of these are websites that I did front-end development for, and in some cases also back-end and (rarely) design.
Currently I don’t take on new projects, for my full-time job already takes plenty of my time.

StephanMuller.nl is my personal blog and portfolio, and hopefully the site you’re currently looking at. It was built using a WordPress Network installation on which I host several other websites.
It currently uses the theme Durango, an HTML5 theme for WordPress that I built using the HTML5 Boilerplate. It is publicly available for download (see my blog post about the theme).
It uses valid and as semantically correct HTML5 as I could get, valid CSS 2.1 and a handful of CSS3 features for the browsers that support it. It also shows no accessibility errors according to Wave.
Apart from that the website uses a custom post type to separate the blog posts and pages from the portfolio entries. Also, for SEO purposes I use the WordPress SEO plugin by Yoast.

The Marilyn Manson wiki, or MansonWiki in short, is a community project revolving around rock band Marilyn Manson. It is currently the largest fansite with over 2,400 articles about the band and everything related to their work.
MansonWiki consists of a wiki, a chat and several social media pages. As of December 2011 it has around 90,000 monthly visitors, over 2,000 users and a total of almost 60,000 edits. Starting in 2010 the website has been creating original content (in addition to collecting as much factual information as possible) by doing interviews with people close to Marilyn Manson, so far among which have been his father and his best friend Rudy Coby.
The website was founded by myself in March 2007, and is currently being administered by a total of three admins and four senior editors.

PKR.nl, currently called pokerforum.nl is a Dutch poker community mainly revolving about the online poker client PKR. As a project for my former employer BliXem Internet Services I was asked to re-design the website (which consisted of a message board only) and get the dormant community going again.
To accomplish this I added a news portal, re-designed the forums, implemented a wiki and launched several online Poker tournaments and poker-related contests. Within several months the community was active again, raising the amount of monthly forum registrations from 40 to 200-300 (with a record of 450) and an monthly amount of new discussions from 20 to 100 (top record: 150) between April 2008 and January 2010.
In addition to re-building the community I was in charge of the front-end development for the forums and wiki along with search engine optimization, for which I worked together a great deal with friend and former colleague BartvH.

haptotherapie-zutphen.nl is a Dutch website I made for haptotherapist Wout Elzinga in Zutphen, The Netherlands. The website is a basic WordPress installation with a custom theme. It was designed to serve as a display of information about Elzinga’s haptonomy practice and especially to score high in Google for a few related terms.
The website is the first result for several search terms, among which are ‘haptotherapie zutphen’, ‘haptonoom zutphen’ and ‘haptotherapeut zutphen’.

lexlijst.nl is the website for Lex Lijstenmakerij, a framer and frame repairsman in Arnhem, The Netherlands. The website is a basic WordPress installation with a custom theme. It was designed to serve as a display of the shop’s main activities and products as well as a blog platform to which news articles can be posted.
The website is currently listed as the first results in Google when searching for the terms ‘lijstenmaker arnhem’ and ‘lijstenmakerij arnhem’ among others.

ZorginBeeld.nl is a Dutch medical stock photography website by photographer Frank Muller. On this website he currently offers over 4500 photos, which can be ordered directly from the website.
The website uses HTML5 and some CSS3 properties like rounded borders and gradients. The design was made by Gerton Hermers. Most of the custom PHP development was done by an associate.
Software: WordPress, NextGEN Gallery plugin + custom plugins/code.
